In 2023 I got into making Gameboy games with GBStudio. Of course I wanted to pusht the limitations, even though I'm a dumb dummy, so I made this demo type thing of a psuedo-3d ground using the same pallet swapping technique as Sonic 3's blue sphere bonus levels.
An attempt at rotating the view. Featuring Mazey The Woundup Mouse.
I tried to go for a checkerboard look to the ground. And used this Birdo sprite instead of Mazey. I think it was strobing too much.
I thought a striped ground might be smoother than a checkerboard ground. Also wanted to use moving clouds to enhance the illusion.
It's been a year since I touched this project, but I very badly want to get back to it.
